But how do you get more time? How can you stretch those moments in the Dungeon from a measly 60 seconds to minutes?

With Chrono Essence.

Chrono Essence

Chrono Essence is a mysterious substance that powers the Chrono Keeper - The Lantern that keeps the portals to these Dungeons open and accessible to adventurers like you. The more Chrono Essence you collect, the longer your lantern burns for.

Chrono Essence can only be obtained in the Dungeons and is banked like any other loot when you leave the Dungeon. When banked, it helps to raise your Chronos level for that particular Dungeon, granting you more time the higher your level is.

You can see how much Chrono Essence you have collected during a run by looking at the scoreboard at the top of your screen, next to the amount of coins you’ve collected.

Chrono Essence is not shared between dungeons, so keep an eye on the time when checking out a new one. If you’re locked in with Chrono Essence, a percentage of your Chrono Essence is lost to the sands.
